Every time I go to the folks house, I'm welcomed by this same sad face. I want desperately to fix her up, take her out, and make her feel special.

This is my Dad's old Ghia. I got her up and running back in High School. When I got to her the battery had leaked and ate through the floor pan, there were no seats, and the rear torsion bars were shot. There was also some kind of weird, pseudo 6V to 12V conversion for parts (but not all) of the electrical. I still think this car can be salvaged, and I want it. I want is so bad! Unfortunately, it's 800 miles away and in another country. Anyone got a flat deck and is planning on heading to Alberta??

Alright, I'm throwing in the towel on this one. It doesn't appear to be a Karmann Ghia, and I've used my best Google-fu to figure out what it actually is. I can't find anything "Ghia" that matches that front end at all. What is it?

Type 34 Wiki

It's a Type 34. The Type 14 is probably what you're used to seeing.

The Type 34 wasn't available in the US. My Dad brought it down with him from Canada when he moved to the States. It's not very common, and finding parts for it is... well, it's not easy.

Who knew? You seem to be well versed in Ghia's. Going to Alberta in a few weeks, but got no truck like you need.
